Tomorrow night beginning at 7pm at Cambridge Community Television (where I work), there’s a screening happening of work produced by Cambridge residents who have participated in the following CCTV-led production groups: NeighborMedia, Cambridge Bites! and ZipDocs.
I’ve been putting together a reel for the screening tomorrow of video produced by CCTV’s NeighborMedia citizen journalists, including Margaret Desjardins, Sharon Stentiford, Karin Koch, Maria Burns Ortiz and Mark Jaquith. In it, their work raises awareness about a range of local topics including health care, community gardens, Latino arts and culture, and the devastation that a fire can bring to a place of worship in Cambridge.
In gathering the material for the screening, I have been impressed by and proud of all the citizen journalists’ work for the NeighborMedia program this year and their dedication to building community in Cambridge through media.
I hope people who are local will come out tomorrow night to see all of the great work produced by these local residents and CCTV staff. If you’re there, please come by after the screening to say hi and let us know what you thought of the screening.
