Later this week, I’m heading up to Burlington, VT to participate in the Alliance for Community Media Northeast Region conference, entitled “Community Media in a Broadband World,” May 21-22 at Champlain College.
I’m really looking forward to being there, particularly because there will be multiple ways for conference attendees and those from afar to participate in the discussions.
The good folks at Found Line donated an elegant little aggregator at acmne.net to pull together feeds from Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, Blip.tv, and other sites to feature media produced during the conference.
During our workshop on Thursday afternoon, I’ll be presenting with VCAM’s Seth Mobley and Bill Simmon, CCTV Burlington’s Meghan O’Rourke and Found Line’s Bradley Holt to help attendees learn about the tools while using them to share media during the conference.
Also on Thursday afternoon, I’ll be speaking on a panel with Liz Schlegel of Found Line and Christine Major at Perkette Public Relations on how community media centers can leverage social media tools to amplify their message and reach their target audience.
And on Friday, I’ll be joining Mauro DePasquale of WCCATV and Emily Frazier of RETN in Burlington, VT to talk about how community media centers can gauge which social media tools are right for them and their local communities.
I want to thank Seth Mobley, Jason Daniels, Bradley Holt and others at VCAM, Found Line and the ACM NE Region for all of their hard work organizing these and other social media initiatives during the conference.
