The New Home of ACMEBoston
I wasn’t really planning on it, but I set up a new WordPress.com blog for ACMEBoston. I’d liked it so much that I decided to move the whole site there! It’s a bummer you can’t edit the template, but I traded that in for the site’s ease of use and blog functionality.
I decided on the generic looking “Contempt” template mainly because you could tweak the sidebar widgets. It’s also really nice having built in Flickr and del.icio.us modules. We can also use a FeedBurner feed for the blog.
I still think it would be nice if they opened up the templates for editing, but I guess you can’t have everything.
I’m super excited that our new home is a blog. I didn’t like the fact that on our old site visitors had to go to a seperate site to blog. Our podcast still lives at Blogger, but I hope to import the entries into the new site and make a category for the podcast. Ideally, if people could subscirbe to categories on the site then they could subscribe seperately to the podcast. Still thinking about that bit, but I am happy with our new home so far.
